Celebrating Women’s History Month at Sepire

Although we celebrate women in the workplace as part of our daily culture at Sepire, Women's History Month is a time to focus on the contributions made by women throughout history. It presents the chance to uncover the many great - and often overlooked -  cultural, historical, and social accomplishments by women.

It seems as far back as one can see down the tunnel of history, women have had to fight for equality whether political, economic, or social. Although great strides have been made, we’re still a long way off from gender parity.  The Global Gender Gap Report 2020 indicated that - based on the current rate of progress - it will take another 100 years to achieve gender equality.

Women's History Month 2021

The theme for International Women’s Day 2021 is Choose to Challenge.

Sepire’s CEO, Michelle Steinberg, participated as a panelist in Ricoh's International Women’s Day event, celebrating the same theme.

Talking about her journey, Michelle touched upon her experience in the printing industry. Being a woman in a generally male-dominated space is something that she has had to challenge from the day she entered the industry, and still does today.

"I'm thankful Ricoh gave me the opportunity to share my story. Being able to challenge the norm especially in the printing industry is something I'm very proud of. I hope the event inspired others to choose to challenge on a daily basis," said Michelle of the event.

Gender Equality and Sepire

The Sepire team chooses to challenge gender inequality and affront all forms of bias in the workplace. A proudly WBENC-certified company, Sepire has been a certified Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE) since its founding. This does not just benefit Sepire as an organization, but working with a WBE also holds great benefits for our clients.

Michelle owns 100% of Sepire and started it from the ground up. She encourages women to get into the printing industry and take aim at executive positions within print companies. Women bring a different perspective to the print and mail space, and pulling together the diverse gender strengths is what leads to success, she believes.

As a further commitment to equality and inclusion, Sepire is part of the CEO Action for Diversity and Inclusion. As CEO, Michelle has taken the pledge to personally drive diversity and inclusivity at the workplace. The CEO pledge details the set of actions the signatory CEOs undertake to cultivate an environment of trust in the workplace where everyone's ideas are welcomed, and employees feel secure and empowered to address diversity and inclusion.

Great leaders know that successful companies are based on a diverse, balanced work environment and gender equality. It is a formula that has certainly worked for Sepire.
